GB-03. Complete DMAIC Project 1.

Explain the structured problem methodology DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control).  The Nievgen lean six sigma template will also be explained, including the two phases: proposal and final completion of the paper.  Participants and instructor will also collaborate on the discussion of a lean six sigma case study.  Participants are expected to identify the problem, determine baseline performance measures, create performance comparisons, determine and analyze problem causes via 5M+E, identify solutions and implement, measure new data after the solutions are implemented and determine strategies to control and sustain the improvement brought by the activities.

GB-05. Create failure mode & effects analysis.

Create an FMEA analysis for a certain process.  Identify failure modes, impact to process, causes and effect, score severity, likelihood, detection and calculate RPN.  Identify detection, control and mitigation plans, including projects to lower the RPN.  At the end of the discussion, it is expected that the participants will understand the role of FMEA in achieving six sigma.

GB-06. Perform measurement systems analysis.

Perform proper qualification of measurement tools to minimize variations contributed by tools or operators.  Perform Type 1 Gage Study, create gage run charts, perform bias and linearity study, repeatability and reproducibility studies (GRR).

GB-07. Perform Design of Experiment.

Perform design of experiments and understand the impact of the technique in understand and creating optimized results.  Also determine root cause of the issue by using the DOE.  Full factorial, partial factorial and Taguchi methods will be explained and will be performed by the candidates.

GB-08. Demonstrate Kaizen and Kaikaku.

The candidates will be asked to visit a store, shop, website or even analyze their process in the business to determine wastes and identify the necessary improvement to eliminate or reduce wastes and variation.  The participants will also be asked to identify what invention or innovation will best work for the processes.

GB-09. Perform Lean Project 1.

The candidates will be taught on how to fill up the Nievgen Lean Template paper.  They will be given a case and they will analyze the case to determine opportunities for cost savings and other lean benefits.

GB-10. Manage lean six sigma project.

The candidates will propose and manage a lean six sigma project and or implement a full CI program in the company in demonstration and application of their learnings in the class.  This is the final requirement to obtain the CLSSGB credential.

GB-11. Use GanttProject for scheduling.

The participants will create their six sigma project schedule using GanttProject.
